The Yoga Tune Up (YTU) Treat While You Train Kit provides on demand relief. The YTU balls come in three different sizes and are a dense natural rubber. The original YTU therapy ball creates a more trigger point, thumb type impact, whereas the plus-size balls are more like an elbow, and the alpha is the broadest, imitating more closely a fist. The YTU balls are grippy and pliable, and are able to get deep into your tissues.

The grippiness of the YTU ball grabs onto your soft tissue which allows you to implement any of the 7 recommended strategies by Jill Miller which includes compression; contact and relax; stripping (as in the muscle); shear (or skin rolling); cross fiber; tack and floss; and pin, spin and mobilize. These techniques are further explained on the YTU DVD. Due to the pliability of the ball you are also able to roll it under and over bony prominences unlike the conventional foam roller and the rock hard lacrosse/mobility ball.

Motion is lotion, and the YTU kit can be used and transported anywhere, it is simply a ‘mobility in your pocket’ tool and you can take it anywhere including work, gym or can be even used in between lectures! It is a great mobility piece that will keep your body staying supple and not succumbing to the consequences of a prolonged sitting.

The YTU kit comes with mesh satchels which allows you to essentially connect two of the YTU balls together providing the opportunity for you to target the muscles either side of bony areas safely such as your spine or shin bone, as well as work on your thoracic (or upper back) mobility.

The kit also includes a ‘must watch’ DVD by Jill Miller and Dr Kelly Starrett, which is a great source to have, providing some great information about how to tackle some common issues experienced in different parts of your body such as tennis elbow, neck tightness, chest muscle tightness, and hip flexor tightness, among many others.

Overall the YTU kit is a definite recommendation for anyone from your office worker, weekend warrior to elite athlete, it is a ‘must have’ for your training kit to smash your mobility on a daily basis! The only fault with this product is the price, it is a little up there, however when you consider the great quality, durability, how easy it is to transport, and not to mention its wide variety of uses, it is worth it!

The YTU range can be purchased from the WODNUT at www.wodnut.com.au.
